The Cooperating Collection is available all library hours:
Monday – Thursday 9:00am to 8:00pm
Friday – Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Sunday - 1:00pm to 5:00pm

Targeted Audience:
Nonprofit directors and staff members, directors of development, board members, and volunteers within Benton, Carroll, Madison, and Washington counties.

Program Description: Are you looking to find all the resources you need as a fundraiser or nonprofit board member in one place? Do you wish there were quality workshops targeted to the special needs of nonprofit staff?  The Nonprofit Resource Center @ FPL hosts a Foundation Center Cooperating Collection, which provides support through access to the Foundation Directory Online Professional, a powerful database that searches 98,000 foundations, corporate giving programs, and grant-making public charities in the U.S., nearly 3,500 corporate funders, and over 1.7 million recently awarded grants.  The Nonprofit Resource Center also provides access to current books and magazines in the field, quality workshops, and trained staff who make research assistance to nonprofits a priority. 
Never before has there been a location in Northwest Arkansas with a collection of materials specifically designed to support the nonprofit community.  The Collection offers professional journals and resources on board development, annual giving, and more.  The Nonprofit Resource Center can help local nonprofits improve fundraising efforts, build capacity, and continue to serve as an important resource for Northwest Arkansas.  Visit us at http://www.faylib.org/services/nonprofit-resource-center.asp to "check-out" our resources!

Program Goals/Objectives/Outcomes:

  • Provide training/workshop opportunities in the areas of management, growth, and leadership for nonprofit staff, boards, and volunteers
  • Provide on-demand research assistance to agencies seeking grant information
  • Provide local nonprofits with access to the Foundation Center's most comprehensive database of more than 98,000 grant makers and half a million grants, updated weekly, Foundation Directory Online Professional
  • Provide local nonprofits with access to a collection of books, periodicals, and research resources unsurpassed in the Northwest Arkansas area

Program Value: $150 per agency

Program Fee: There is no cost associated with accessing the collection.  Nonprofit staff who live outside Washington County will receive a free library card with presentation of IRS Determination Letter.

Maximum number of participants: Unlimited access to Cooperating Collection materials, and unlimited simultaneous access to database materials from inside the building.
