Suzanne Ward, executive director at CommunityCare Foundation, stated, "Most of the money the foundation allotted for grantmaking this year is being given through these grants. One interesting thing is, through our new strategy, the foundation has had the wonderful opportunity to work with these grantees for the last six to eighteen months, or even longer. It has given us all – funder and grantee alike – the chance to build the programs that we all see as making the most difference for northwest Arkansas."

Chairman of the Board, Walter Turnbow, added, "We've said it before, and we'll say it again – education is the key to meeting our most critical needs. We're excited to continue with some of the programs we've funded before – like ACES – and we are just as excited to branch out in some brand new directions. We expect in-depth mental health services at school to have significant outcomes, and the funding of the immigrant programs has the potential to assist hundreds of newcomers who in turn, can assist many, many more."
