To better align CF's nonprofit capacity building initiative with the Foundation's other strategic initiatives, we wanted to design programs that are data-driven and measurable. To do this, an assessment of nonprofit organizations in Benton and Washington counties was necessary.

The Foundation contracted with the Survey Research Center at the University of Arkansas to conduct a survey, and the results have provided us with the information and baseline data we needed. Since program design was the primary use of the report, and because we wanted to allow ample space for creativity and innovation, we did not draw and present our own conclusions in the report. Nor did we make recommendations. Rather, we have simply presented the most significant findings. The Foundation is currently working with an invited group of consultants on program design.
